About Us
Latens was founded in 2002 to address a technological and business need in the Conditional Access market.
We could see that Conditional Access (CA) suppliers were falling behind operator business model developments, and smartcard systems which were the norm, were increasingly becoming susceptible to piracy. In addition, traditional suppliers were content to sell smart cards on a sell-and-move on basis, ignoring the opportunity to develop close business partnerships with the operator.
Latens approach has always been rooted in the objective to collaborate in a long term partnership with its customers, working alongside them to enable their business. As a result Latens have developed strong partnerships with its customers, developing further innnovative products to enable their businesses.
These relationships have led to the development of innovative products such as our ECO middleware solution, PC Client, and full Home Networking, while at the same time continuing to offer quality service to our customers - relationships that continue today.
What does Latens CA offer the operator?
As a provider of the only fully DVB compliant CA for cable, IPTV and Satellite, Latens has a solution for all broadcasting segments. This means that as operators expand, say from Cable into mixed networks of Cable and IP, Latnes can continue to protect their contnet with a single CA installation from a central headend. Latens CA is now installed in over 20 countries around the world protecting content from all the major Hollywood studios.
